Rumah Anak Teater Adakan Bengkel Kreatif

Amnesty International Malaysia (AIM) is having a one day creative activism workshop for young Malaysians. The workshop will look into the concept of creative activism of different forms with an emphasis on creativity and expression to raise awareness about human rights, instigate change or support other forms of activism.

9.15 a.m Introduction to Human Rights and History of Human Rights by Amnesty Int M'sia
10.15 a.m. Screening of “Al Fatehah Memali”
Al-Fatehah Memali portrays the journey of singer-songwriters, Black and Meor, trying to comprehend a massacre that happened in 1985 in Kg. Memali, Kedah. Their journey brings them to the village where they meet survivors and witnesses of the tragedy to uncover a forgotten story of injustice for most of Malaysia.

5.00 p.m. Screening of film Art, Activism and Rock and Roll by Taring Padi.
“Art Activism and Rock ‘n’ Roll” is a documentary about Art Activism that documented the artists’ community
“Lembaga Budaya Karakyatan Taring Padi”. Known as Taring Padi, the artist collective live, work and garden
in a deserted university. The community design images, posters, banners, comic books and t-shirts and
display them in public places and at demonstrations. Their idea being to make art as accessible as possible
to bring about the changes they want.
