Art house, MP tell Putrajaya to apologise for Singapore troupe ban

Rumah Anak Teater (RAT) and PKR’s Petaling Jaya-South MP Hee Loy Sian castigated the government for banning Merdekanya KITA, a stage play sanctioned by the National Arts Council Singapore that was supposed to show in Kuala Lumpur last August 29-30. In a statement today, RAT accused the government of using double standards when it blocked the theatre crew from staging the play even as it allowed the screening of a “historical film that was fictionalised”, an apparent dig at the controversial “Tanda Putera” film. -
